About Innovation Optics Inc.(IOI)

Innovations in Optics was co-founded in 1993 by Thomas Brukilacchio, Ph.D., and Sarah Harpley Brukilacchio.

Recognized as one of the leading innovators in the areas of high brightness LED chip-on-board (COB) products and illumination engineering and technology, we leverage a unique, multidisciplinary approach to systems design to help engineers around the world bring cutting-edge turnkey optical solutions to market faster. Serving as a contract engineering company specializing in photonics engineering in its early days, our organization was exposed to many challenges as we worked with start-up and well established companies to solve complex problems and to design and prototype high-performance optical product solutions. The Company has transitioned over the last several years to develop and manufacture standard High Brightness LED products and custom OEM solutions in our state-of-the-art facility and at our contract management partner facilities.

Innovations in Optics is pushing the technology envelope to develop industry-leading ultra high brightness LED products incorporating patented and proprietary optics to direct and maximize output uniformity and efficiency, enabling some of today’s most revolutionary solutions in light.

The Company’s activity is oriented towards the development of state-of-the-art diode-pumped solid-state laser systems aimed at superior, efficiency, compactness and reliability, suitable for industrial, aerospace, medical, military and scientific application.

Bright Solutions has its main location in Pavia, Italy, where it employs approximately 50 employees. Historically, Bright Solutions products have been air-cooled short nanosecond lasers and more recently picosecond lasers down to 100 ps. Bright Solutions offers the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th harmonics of their lasers, as well as at times the 5th harmonic, and 1.5 um and 3.3 um versions of some of its lasers. Bright Solutions has in excess of 4,000 lasers in use in the field.

Furthermore, Bright Solutions acquired great experience in setting up industrial production and testing line and in forming professionally skilled personnel for the manufacture of diode pumped solid-state lasers. Its proprietary designs in the field of DPSSL for industrial applications are an indisputable success being today marketed worldwide in the thousands of pieces.

R&D and manufacturing activities are focused on two main technological areas:

  • ● High performance compact and efficient Diode Pumped Solid State Laser sources aimed at the industrial OEM market and at scientific and medical applications
  • ● High Brightness Laser Diode Sources based on the design of advanced refractive micro-optics for reshaping of the beam of high-power diode bars

WEDGE – SHORT PULSE Q- SWITCHED DPSS LASER

  • ● Wedge family has been fully renewed in terms of performances and available models.
  • ● Wedge HB and XB models are currently available at 1064nm, 1570nm, 3100nm, 532nm, 355nm and 266nm; laser pulse energy reaches 4 mJ with 1.5 ns pulsewidth.
  • ● Wedge-HF and Wedge-XF models are available in a very compact unit, only 8x9x19 cm, both at 1064nm and 532nm.
  • ● Repetition rate can reach 100 kHz and pulses can be shorter than 500 ps.
  • ● Wedge HF and XF Plus can reach higher power maintaining both the same pulsewidth and mechanical footprint.
  • ● Moreover also Wedge HF and XF are available at 355nm and at 266nm.
  • ● Based on a proprietary fast Q-Switching technology, these compact sealed and monolithic diode pumped lasers are insensitive to vibrations and harsh environments.
  • ● They have been designed for OEM applications like micro machining of hard and soft materials, specialty marking, OLED, glass and crystals engraving, LIDAR, LIBS, Spectroscopy and medical diagnostics. High output peak power, with relatively low energy and heat generation, allows efficient ablation and non-linear interaction with most materials. ONDA NS Q-SWITCHED DPSS LASER

Developed as a high-energy seeder for advanced MOPA systems, Onda is the new DPSS ns-laser platform aimed to high-end applications requiring both excellent beam quality and high peak power in order to process metal, glass, plastics, delicate and hard materials.

Onda is available at four different wavelengths: 266, 355, 532 and 1064nm.

The internal optical layout and the accurate temperature management allow to get relevant pulse energy performances without compromising the lifetime of the THG and FHG stages.

All of the Onda models can work from single shot to 50 kHz or up to 100 kHz with a pulsewidth between 2 and 10 ns and share the same mechanical footprint and electronic interface.

Compactness, insensitivity to environmental conditions and ease of handling allow superior operation flexibility and performance / cost ratio.

A new version of the digitalic Control Box and the new proprietary Software Interface are available for simplified remote control and monitoring.

Features:

  • ● Up to 1mJ pulse energy
  • ● @266nm @355nm @ 532 @1064nm
  • ● 2 to 10 ns pulsewidth
